it was in 1993 when i took part in what was a prolonged demonstration against the government led by the worst criminal Nigeria ever had and perhaps may ever have, a Military General turned civilian president in military Uniform; Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babangida.
the protest was for the annulment a peaceful, credible and all inclusive presidential election which pronounced Nigerian Late business tycoon Abiola as the winner.
Just like the election pulled people of all race in the country to vote for the pronounced winner, the protest pulled every one to the street, people cutting across race, political affiliation and religious line.
Occasions like this bring out the true picture and meaning of unity among the people to foe, it shows how great a united people can do grow a nation. This is what Nigeria lack, this is what the western world who have laid their hands and power over Nigerian natural resources will never allow to exist among the people of Nigeria that they can continue to plunder it.
If Nigerians will keep this unity after this protest, unite in the spirit of development and better living condition, then this days of protest, suffering, loosing of lives and destruction of so many meaningful thing to people and government will be worth while.
returning to our old ways of life, old ways or dividing ourselves from the other, through politics, Race, believes Religion and people will only make nonsense of these effort.
As it stands now, some Ethnic group in Nigeria have severed themselves from what is happening with the government and reaction to the removal of oil subsidy, their cry and concern are centered on the Boko Harems activities and many other incidence of the past that built up the grieves they bear against the country.
This is a call on the So-Called United Nations and the West to hands off the Africa and stop making the continent a war play field, stop plundering it and allow the people and their leaders be.
